West bengal CM insists that all families using just 6 LPG cylinders a year were dieting and not eating

It’s not just Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who thinks in terms of dieting citizens when asked to explain his state’s poor nutrition record. Aam aadmi champion Mamata Banerjee appears to harbour similar notions about households in Bengal that use six cooking gas cylinders a year. Having demanded that the annual quota for cylinders be raised to 24, she argued that even a small family needs more than six cylinders to meet its bare minimum requirements. Those who were using just six cylinders a year were dieting and not eating, she insisted.
