Flower power

Officials making arrangements for the meeting of Empowered Committee of state finance ministers are taking extra care with their preparations this time because of an embarrassing occurence at the last meeting. It seems the officials had brought several bouquets to felicitate the committee’s new chairman Sushil Modi. But one of the state finance ministers liked the flowers so much that she ordered them to be put in her car instead — and drove off with them right under the noses of the organisers.
