The Modi government's overdrive to highlight the achievements of its first 100 days in power seems to have left many bureaucrats breathless. At a recent industry-government meet on issues concerning exports and logistics, a senior bureaucrat found himself reeling from a barrage of questions from industry players on ways the government could facilitate a faster turnaround in the customs department. Unable to parry many of them, he eventually added with heavy sarcasm: "The government is working too hard. You should ask my wife."
