Now that Union Budget 2009-10 has been presented by Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, the big question that comes to every citizen’s mind is: How are all these flagship schemes like NREGA (for which more funds have been allocated) going to be implemented successfully? The purpose of the Budget is to achieve desired results and targets. But at the same time, rampant corruption, petty politics and other administrative loopholes are major stumbling blocks. In this context, transparency and accountability should be maintained at all costs to ensure the overall growth of the country and its people.
