No bets on Patil's son

Not many Congress leaders are hoping that Rajendra Shekhawat, President Pratibha Patil’s son, will win from Amravati. According to top Congress sources, he was advised by some leaders not to contest. He was also assured of a Legislative Council seat. “We told him that we will give him a Legislative Council seat and he can work for the development of Amaravati for the next five years and contest the next elections. But he didn’t listen,” said a leader.
