Cathay Pacific Airways adopts 20 wishes for Make-A-Wish Kids

Cathay Pacific Airways organised a special movie screening of the movie Jumbo, for around 20 children from Make-A-Wish Foundation® of India at PVR Cinemas (Lower Parel) in Mumbai. This is in keeping with Cathay Pacific’s continuous efforts in working with charitable organisations to support their causes.

Today's activity was organized in conjunction with Make-A-Wish Foundation® of India. The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of India is dedicated to granting the cherished wishes of children living with life-threatening illnesses between the ages of 3 & 18years.

The event kicked off with the screening of the movie followed by the wish granting ceremony. Mr. Tom Wright, General Manager – India, Middle East, Pakistan  & Africa, personally handed out the gifts to the children. Also present from Cathay Pacific Airways was Mr. Rakesh Raicar – Sales & Marketing Manger, India, Nepal & Bangladesh.

 

“We don’t just grant wishes, we spread hope strength and joy. Thank you, Cathay Pacific Airways for joining hands with us and bringing smiles to more children with life threatening illnesses” said Mr. Mukul Gupte Chief Executive Officer –Make A Wish Foundation® of India.

The event came to a conclusion with the distribution of the kids’ wishes and having their cherished wishes granted the children’s faces lit up with happiness.

Make-A-Wish Foundation® of India is one of 30+ affiliates of Make-A-Wish Foundation® International. The Foundation’s mission across the globe is dedicated to granting cherished wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses in the age group of 3 & 18 years. The Indian affiliate was established in 1996 by Uday and Gita Joshi. On an average, out of the 5,000 wishes fulfilled each year across the globe, 2,500 wishes are fulfilled by the Indian affiliate alone, which is more wishes than any other affiliate country and that excludes the U.S. Since its inception in 1996 in India, the Foundation has fulfilled over 14,500 wishes with the support of various organizations, generous donors and the larger community. Noteworthy is the contribution by the Jwellers For Children, a U.S. based charity, who provide major funding support to Make-A-Wish Foundation® of India. The Foundation has divisions in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Delhi, Coimbatore, Jaipur, Goa, Pune and Bangalore and intends to reach out to many more children across the country.
