Social activist surrenders; sent to judicial custody

She surrendered before Judicial Magistrate S K Maharaja.

Barla, the convener of the Adivasi-Moolvasi Astitva Raksha Manch, had led an agitation at Angara in Ranchi district to demand job cards under MG-NREGA after which the police filed an FIR.

Following an arrest warrant and her failure to surrender, the court declared her as an absconder.
