"The Trinamool Congress government is losing popularity for its wrong policies and the way it is running the state," WBPCC president Pradip Bhattacharya said.

"People strongly feel that as long as the Mamata Banerjee government is in power it will cause harm to the state," Bhattacharya said.

He alleged that the Trinamool Congress was trying to control the administration which was dangerous and unhealthy for democracy.

He claimed that the ruling party was unaware that industry would cease to come to the state despite appeals "if the present manner of administration continues".

He said that his party had been clamouring for a probe into the operation of chit funds in the state as also many other sectors which warranted serious attention.

To a question, he said that the WBPCC was informing the Centre of the way the state government was running in West Bengal.

He announced the WBPCC's programmes to hold meetings and rallies across the state in favour of FDI in multi-brand retail.

The WBPCC president said that the Youth Congress membership drive would be intensified.
