A 12-year-old boy allegedly committed suicide by jumping in front of a train after he was scolded by his mother for not going to school in Panki area here.
According to police, Satyam Rajput, son of Anil Rajput who is a resident of Sunder Nagar, was a class four student. He had not attended school since many days over which his mother had scolded him last evening.
An upset Satyam left his house at night and jumped in front of a train at Panki railway crossing. He died on the spot, the police said.
Passersby identified the body and informed his family who reached the spot.
Police have sent the body for post-mortem and initiated an investigation.
