Two Indian nationals have been detained in Indonesia for allegedly carrying nearly 7 kg of drugs.

The two identified as only SB, 27 and KB, 37, were detained by Indonesian Customs at Jakarta's Soekarno-Hatta International Airport for carrying crystal meth, Customs office chief Okto Irianto said.

Two others -- an Indonesian and a Taiwanese -- were also detained for the same crime.

"The suspects used different modus operandi," the officers said.

SB, who flew from Mumbai, by Malaysia Airlines concealed 1,684 grams of crystal meth in his luggage.

KB, who flew from Bangalore, by Singapore Airlines on the same day (July 25) had 5,018 grams of crystal meth hidden in several stuffed toys.

The Taiwanese flew from Hong Kong on July 29 and had 482 grams of the drug strapped to his body.

An Indonesian official Soemirat Dwiyanto said that international drug syndicates had started to use India as transit place after Malaysia and Singapore.
