2 Nepalese women sentenced to jail under Narcotics Act

Two Nepalese women were sentenced to ten years in prison by a local court for possessing narcotics.

Ranju and Sheela, both hailing from Veerganj district of Nepal, were arrested about three years ago by SSB from the Indo-Nepal border at Sonauli with eight kilogram 'charas', prosecution lawyer said here.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Jitendra Kumar also slapped a fine of Rs one lakh on each yesterday for violating various provisions of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.
