20 trains delayed at Moradabad due to heavy showers

Twenty trains were today delayed at Moradabad railway station due to heavy rain which hampered services and inundated the tracks here, official sources said.

Moradabad additional divisional railway manager Hitest Malhotra said that heavy showers since 6.30 A.M. Flooded the Moradabad railway yard and also caused a short-circuit in the signalling system.

As a result, trains had to be manually navigated, leading to the delays, he added.

Malhotra said that uprooted trees, which had fallen on railway tracks, too, were behind the delays.
