200 gm gold ingots concealed in dates seized

About 200 gram of gold ingots were today seized from a passenger who arrived from Singapore at the city airport, police said.

Customs officials found the ingots concealed in dates in his baggage.

The gold ingots were in the size of seeds, they said, adding the accused, Mathiyazhagan, hailing from Virudhanagar, was handed over to police.

He has been remanded in judicial custody.
