256th raising day observed

As part of its 256th Raising Day, Madras Regimental Centre today organised various programmes, including voluntary blood donation camp at Wellington, near here.

To mark the occasion, 256 persons donated blood, which was collected by IMA Blood Bank, Brig S Suresh Kumar, said in a release here.

Different varieties of saplings were also planted near Wellington lake, as part of the programme, as the Army has realised the urgent need to add to the Green Canopy, Suresh Kumar said.
