350 cartons of smuggled liquor seized; 1 held

Police have seized 350 cartons of smuggled liquor worth Rs 14 lakh and arrested one person in this connection at Kutba village in the district.

On a tip-off, police intercepted a car during checking and arrested the accused identified as Uttam Singh yesterday.

Two other accused, Anuj Kumar and Sudhir, managed to escape, police said.

Two bikes and a mini truck, used for smuggling liquor, were also seized, they said.

A case has been registered and the matter is being investigated, police added.
