4.15 lakh foreigners came to India in Sept

Foreign exchange earnings from tourism during September were Rs 6,652 crore as compared to Rs 5,748 crore in September 2011, an increase of 15.7 per cent, according to Tourism Ministry data.

"Our aim is to attract more foreign tourists as India is now all-season tourist destination. The target is to reach the 12 million mark by 2016-17 as far as foreign tourists arrivals is concerned," said a senior ministry official.

There were total 46.33 lakh foreign tourists during January-September as against 43.75 lakh during the same period last year, a growth of 5.9 per cent.
