4.79 crore mobile phones in Delhi

The national capital has over 4 crore mobile phones which roughly translates to more than two device for each individual going by latest official data.
"The number of mobile phones in Delhi as on December 2015 was 4.79 crore as compared to 4.54 crore in December 2014," says the Delhi Statistical Hand Book 2016 released by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia today.
As per 2011 cenus, Delhi has a population of nearly 1.7 crore.

Besides, number of landline subscribers have also seen a meager increase from 31.23 lakhs in December 2014 to 31.57 lakh in December 2015.
The 'total telephones' head has a count of 5,10,37,816 in the handbook.
