A 4th standard student was allegedly raped and murdered at Goilkera in West Singhbhum district, police today said.
The body of the St.Pauls School girl was recovered from deep bushes near the village today, Officer-in-charge of the police station, Patras Nag said.
Nag said the girl had gone to wash clothes in a nearby nullah soon after she returned from the school on Thursday afternoon but did not return home.
The family members searched all possible places including her friends' places but could not trace her till late in the night.
The body of the victim with face crushed was recoevered this morning and the nature of injury suggested that the girl was raped and murdered.
The girl was living with her paternal uncle.
