5,988 cases disposed at mega lok adalat

To provide justice to the economically weaker sections of the society a mega lok adalat was organized by District Legal Cell at court premises today under ageis of District Judge Anil Srivastava.

Vijay Kumar Dungarkoti, secretary of district legal cell, told that a total number of 5,988 pending compoundable cases were disposed off and a pecuniary fine of Rs 4.22 lakh was recovered.

At least 283 cases of loan recovery were settled between bankers and their borrowers for Rs 2.39 crore.

In two cases under Successions Act, two certificates worth rupees 35.34 lakh were released.

Compromise was also arrived between parties in 50 matrimonial disputes.
 

In 8 cases of motor accidents, a compensation of Rs 22.3 lakh was awarded to the victims.

Several other disputes under Shops and Establishment Act, Motor Vehicles Act, Entertainment Act, Weights and Measures Act, Police Act were also resolved.

The next Mega Lok Adalat will be held on March 14 at Modi Nagar and Loni tehsils, Dungakoti said.
