: Around 200 delegates from India and abroad will deliberate will attend a five day national meet on tropical parasitology, beginning here tomorrow and evolve strategies to improve the perspective on the drug resistance scenario in parasitic diseases
The conference is being hosted by the Department of Microbiology of centrally sponsored JIPMER (Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education and Research) and organised by the Indian Academy of Tropical Parasitology.
A release from JIPMER today said the conference would evolve strategies to improve the perspective on the drug resistance scenario in parasitic diseases, notably malaria, molecular techniques and newer modalities employed for the diagnosis of enteric parasites and recent updates on them.

The meet would be of help for parasitologistsall over the globe to interact and share their academic and research experience with their fellow scientists, it said.
The conference would also offer an opportunity to get glimpses of current research activities in the field of parasitology.
Vice Chancellor (in charge) of Pondicherry University Professor Anisa Basheer Khan would inaugurate the conference on November 4.
