5 held for dacoity and murder in Odisha

Five persons were arrested on Monday for their involvement in a and killing of a 60-year-old of a liquor shop at Jagadalpur village in district, police said.

The deceased was identified as (62) and he was a resident of Jagadalpur village, a said, adding, the salesman's body was recovered on Thursday morning.

The five accused are also residents of the same village, the Sub-Divisional (SDPO) of Berhampur Sadar, A K Mohanty, said.

They looted Rs 20,000 from the liquor shop and killed the before leaving it, Mohanty said.

The accused have confessed to their crime, the Inspector-in-Charge (IC) of station, Siba Shankar Mohapatra, said.
