Five people were killed after an oil tank truck exploded in China's central Hubei Province, local authorities said today.

Three others were injured in the accident that took place last night in Zigui County, according to the local government.The oil tank truck overturned and then exploded, killing the driver and nearby villagers.
Three houses were severely damaged by the explosion, state-run Xinhua new agency reported.
More than 70 police officers and firefighters joined the rescue.
