A local court has sentenced to life imprisonment five persons who allegedly abducted an industrialist's college-going daughter for ransom.
The court also slapped a fine of Rs 1,000 on each of them, a police release said.
All the five persons -- Palanisami, Loganathan, Rajamani, Murugan, Karthik, aged between 25 and 30 years, allegedly kidnapped the girl recently and demanded Rs two crore from her father Sundar.

Based on specific inputs, they were nabbed some days ago while hiding at suburban Pozhichalur and the girl was rescued.
All the five have been lodged at Central Prison, Puzhal, the release said.
