Around 50 quintal of wheat was seized from a mini truck at Ralaba in Odisha's Gajam district, official sources said today.
"We are verifying whether the foodgrains were meant for public distribution system (PDS)," Berhampur sub-collector B K Das said.
The owner, however, claimed that the wheat was purchased from private parties.
"The tehsildar and civil supplies officer will check godowns of Berhampur Regional Marketing Cooperative Society and submit a report," Das said.
