50 taken ill in Rajasthan after drinking contaminated water

At least 50 people were taken ill apparently after drinking contaminated water in Kanota area on the city outskirts today.

On receiving information about the incident, a rapid response team was sent to the spot. 41 people were given primary treatment and the rest admitted to SMS hospital, the Director (Public Health), Medical and Health department, said.

He said a round-the clock control room has been set up in all districts to handle such cases.

Water samples have been collected from Kanota and nearby areas and sent for testing, Chief Medical and Health Officer (Jaipur II) Ravi Sharma said.
