Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials today conducted raids on two check-posts on NH-52 near Teendhar and a state highway in Jhalawar district, and detained eight people, including six RTO personnel, for allegedly being involved in extorting money from car drivers.
The money seized during the raid is still being counted and interrogation of the accused is underway, an ACB official said.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police, ACB, Chandrasheel Thakur, the raid was conducted after keeping a close watch on the two check-posts for over six months.
Ten ACB personnel under guise of truck drivers and helpers arrived at the check-posts this afternoon and caught six RTO personnel, including an inspector, and two touts red- handed, Thakur said.
A search at the residences of the accused is underway, the ASP said.
