6 sentenced to life term in double murder case

A local court today sentenced six persons, including two brothers, to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 65,000 each in a double murder case.

Additional District Judge Ehsan Ullah Khan held Rajkumar, his brother Devendra Singh and Om Prakash, Rakesh Singh, Rajendra and Nankuh guilty and sentenced them to life in prison, prosecution said here.

Seven other accused died during the pendency of the case.

In a group clash in November 1997, two persons- Fakere and Munna Singh- were killed in indiscriminate firing from licenced firearms, the prosecution said.

Case had been lodged against 13 people.
