60-year-old man trampled to death

A 60-year-old man was trampled to death by an elephant Friday, when he had gone to take a dip in a river near a temple at Mullankadu on the outskirts, police said.

An elephant, lying on the bank, suddenly attacked and trampled the man, who died on the spot, they said.

The man had gone to the Veerakaliamman temple for offering prayers, they said.
