60-year-old woman dies after falling in 60-foot deep well

A 60-year-old woman powerloom worker died after she fell into a 60-foot deep well near Annur, about 35 km from here.

Thulasiyammal was walking towards her house when she accidentally fell in the well last night.

Since the road was deserted, the badly injured woman was in the well the whole night.

An agricultural laborer who came to fetch water from the well this morning heard groans and noticed the old woman lying in it. He immediately informed fire and rescue Personnel, who rushed to the spot and brought her up.

Though she was rushed to the Annur Govenrment Hospital, she died without responding to treatment, police said.
