A minor girl sustained a bullet injury in an exchange of fire between police and a wanted man in JJ clusters of east Delhi this afternoon, police said.
The incident took place at around 1.30 P.M. As a police team was chasing one Sahib, who is wanted in cases of robbery, murder, dacoity and attempt to murder in the area.
"We received a tip-off that Sahib, a native of West Bengal, was coming towards JJ clusters in Block No.9 this afternoon and laid a trap (to nab him).

"When he reached the spot, we tried to nab him, but he took to his heels. We gave chase and there was exchange of fire between police and Sahib," said a senior police officer.
The officer said that as Sahib fired at police, one of the bullets hit a seven-year-old girl who was playing in the neighbourhood. The girl has sustained injuries to her leg in the incident. The police team also fired back and the bullet hit Sahib's thigh.
"The girl and Sahib were rushed to a nearby hospital where they are undergoing treatment. Their condition is stated to be stable. Police are probing Sahib's involvement in other cases in the area as well," the officer added.
A case under appropriate sections has been registered at Geeta Colony police station over today's incident, police said.
