The ACB has arrested a Panchayat Raj department officer after unearthing his alleged disproportionate assets to the tune of Rs 1.62 crore, police said today.
The agency sleuths yesterday conducted simultaneous searches at the residence of M V Satyanarayana, a Mandal Engineering Officer of the Panchayat Raj Department, and at the places of his relatives and close associates in different towns in East and West Godavari districts.
"During the searches, the ACB found 12 vacant house sites, 5 residential flats, 52.5 acres of agricultural lands, gold ornaments over 1 kg, 5 kgs silver articles and household articles - all worth Rs 1.62 crore. The documentary value of these assets is approximately about Rs 5 crore," an ACB release said here today.
Satyanarayana was booked under a Disproportionate Assets case and subsequently sent in judicial remand.
