Adequate safety measures should be ensured in industries: Min

To ensure a safe and secured work environment, business houses should put in place adeqaute safety arrangements in their industrial establishments, state Industries Minister Mukesh Agnihotri today said.

Speaking on the eve of World Safety Day, also underscored the need to educate and aware people on disaster preparedness.

The minister said the Labour and Employment Department is ensuring that personal protective equipments were used by workers, machinery was tested regularly and all safety measures are observed by the respective managements.

Furthermore, the state government has made it mandatory for the owners of industrial units to issue identity-cards to their workers, he added.
