Advocate killed, lawyers to strike work in Bengal tomorrow

An advocate was killed in his home here today prompting all members of the Bar Council across West Bengal to abstain from work tomorrow in protest against it.

State Bar Council chairman Asit Baran Bose said its members in all courts would abstain from work tomorrow as a mark of protest against the killing and demanded immediate arrest of the culprits.

Advocate Kishore Chanda was killed by two unidentified assailants at his home here at Stationpara this morning.

His family members said the assailants called him outside and as one of them caught hold of him, the other slit his throat.
 

Chanda died on way to hospital.

Jalpaiguri superintendent of police Akash Megharia said investigation into the incident is on and it is expected that the assailants would be netted soon.
