Ahmedabad: police bust sex racket involving foreign nationals

The special operation group of Ahmedabad rural police today claimed to have busted an "international sex racket" in Bopal area in the city, police said.

"Acting on a tip-off, SOG busted the racket during a raid on bungalow number 192 in Neelkanth society and nabbed two foreign-origin women, one from Turkmenistan and another from Uzbekistan, along with an Indian client," a police statement said.

The racket was being run from the society for over a month.

A car, seven cell-phones and Rs 21,110 in cash were seized. Pappu alias Chandrakant Suryavanshi, who ran the racket, was absconding, police said.

Shankar Nathubhai Patel, another member of the racket, was arrested from bungalow number 192 of the same society, the statement said.
