Amid weak trend overseas and low demand at the domestic spot markets, aluminium prices drifted lower by 0.24 per cent to Rs 104.60 per kg in futures adding today as traders reduced positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, aluminium for delivery in September month declined by 25 paise, or 0.24 per cent to Rs 104.60 per kg in business turnover of 215 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in October contracts shed 20 paise, or 0.19 per cent to Rs 105.75 per kg in 6 lots.

Market analysts said offloading of positions by participants, tracking a weak trend in global markets and easing demand from consuming industries at domestic spot markets, mainly led to fall in aluminium prices at futures trade.
