Dairy major Amul today reported a sharp 32 per cent growth in turnover to Rs 18,143 crore during 2013-14 on the back of strong sales.

Gujarat Co-operative Milk Marketing Federation (GCMMF), which sells milk products under the Amul brand, had a turnover of Rs 13,700 crore in 2012-13.

"There was substantial increase in sales in both volume and value terms which was the main driver of our growth," GCMMF Managing Director R S Sodhi told PTI.

The increase in sales was across Amul dairy products during last financial year, he said.

For this financial year, he said the cooperative plans to achieve a turnover of Rs 21,600 crore in 2014-15.
