The body of a 23-year-old youth arrested on charges of kidnapping and snatching was found hanging inside a police station in West Midnapore district today.
Sub Divisional Police Officer Vivek Verma said Tanuj Kumar Das used his shirt to hang himself from the window grill of the toilet of Nayagram police station.
When Tanuj, who was arrested yesterday, was taken to hospital, he was declared dead on arrival, Verma said.
Tanuj along with Babu Chowdhury, both hailing from Baleswar district of Odisha, were arrested for on charges of kidnapping a man and snatching his belongings from Dhumsai near Odisha border, the SDPO said.
Later, a local court remanded Babu to three days' police custody.
