Arunachal Pradesh selected for Krishi Karman award

Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar conveyed the information to the state's Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandary and Dairy Development Minister Setong Sena, official sources said here today.

The commendation award would be presented by the President on January 15 in New Delhi, the sources said.

Sena, who is invited to receive the award would attend the award giving ceremony.

The stae has achieved an annual growth rate of 4.3 per cent in the 11th five-year plan (2007-12) compared to 2.3 per cent in the previous plan period in crop production and the national level target of 4 per cent.

The state has envisaged an annual growth rate of 6.5 per cent in crop production during the 12th five-year plan.
