ASI arrested while taking bribe from retired police personnel

An Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) Dinesh Prasad Singh was today arrested while taking a graft of Rs 4,000 from a retired police personnel for determining pension and other related works.

Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Manu Maharaj said retired constable Uday Pratap Singh had complained about Dinesh that he was demanding bribe for fixing his pension and had also threatened that the pension would not be fixed if the money was not paid.

"We formed a team and asked it to verify the charges. The allegations were found to be true and today Dinesh was caught red-handed while accepting Rs 4,000 as bribe from Uday," said Maharaj.
 

Police officials said Dinesh has been suspended and an FIR has been lodged against him. He was later sent to judicial custody.
