Assam Assembly for Z+ Security cover for Chief Minister

Assam Assembly today unanimously appealed the state government to provide 'Z+ Security Cover' to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who earlier refused to accept it.

"I will convey the message of the House to the Chief Minister and request him on behalf of all parties to accept the Z+ Security," Parliamentary Affairs Minister Chandra Mohan Patowary said.

He informed the House that as per intelligence and police input, Sonowal was offered 'Z+ Security' after he became Chief Minister.

"However, he refused to accept it although he needs it," Patowary said.

BJP MLA Padma Hazarika raised the issue in the House and it was supported by all other parties, including the opposition.
