Assam CM invites Tamil Nadu industrialists for investment

Chief Minster Sarbananda today invited industrialists from to invest in the state, saying his has announced key initiatives to boost trade, including the "Act East Policy".

Work for the construction of new terminal and expansion of the airport has already begun, he added.

Noting that the government has taken steps to give Guwahati a new global identity, the said, "We are planning to develop Guwahati as a new city with modern facilities to boost economic and commercial ties between and ASEAN countries".

He said has set up an office of Assistant High Commissioner, while recently opened a consulate in Guwahati.

"We are working to get consulates of more neighbouring countries and ASEAN nations in Guwahati", Sonowal added.
