Assam CM meets Rajnath

Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal today met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and discussed with him various issues concerning the state.

During the 20 minute meeting, Sonowal briefed him about the prevailing law and order situation in Assam and steps taken to ensure peace in the Northeastern state, official sources said.

Sonowal, who heads the first BJP government in Assam, assumed charge in May. Before becoming the Chief Minister, he was the Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs.
