Assam police officer allegedly commits suicide

An Assam police official allegedly committed suicide by shooting himself with his service pistolin his room at a police station complex in Sonitpur.

Sonitpur District superintendent of police Sanjukta Parasar said 56-year-old Naren Talukdar allegedly committed suicide last night.

Investigation is on to ascertain the reason for the policeman taking the extreme step, she added.
