Assets of Rs 2.47 cr related to Commercial Tax officer found

ACB today unearthed assets worth about Rs 2.47 crore allegedly related to a deputy commissioner of Andhra Pradesh Commercial Tax department in Vijayawada after conducting searches at numerous places.

On credible information a case of disproportionate assets was registered against Seethalam Sekhar, and simultaneous searches were conducted at his office and residence at Vijayawada and ten other places at Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Kakinada, Tadepalligudem and Hyderabad, an ACB release stated here.

During the searches, a three-floor house at Visakhapatnam (Rs 75 lakh), one plot at Visakhapatnam (Rs 7.72 lakh), one flat at Vijayawada (Rs 1.10 crore), one car (Rs 8 lakh), fixed deposits (Rs 11.41 lakh), bank balance (Rs 50,000), net cash (Rs 3.49 lakh), household articles (Rs 10 lakh), gold ornaments weighing 1.6 kg, silver 1.4 kg--all worth about Rs. 2.47 crore were unearthed, as per the release.
 

The case is under investigation.
