A speeding auto-rickshaw mowed down three pedestrians crossing a road in Bihar's Aurangabad district today, killing one of them and injuring two others, the police said.
Police officers said the incident happened near Kaithi canal under Goh police station area in Daudnagar sub-division of the district.
Daudnagar Sub-divisional Police Officer (SDPO) Javed Anwar said, "We are trying to identify the victim. He died on the spot after being hit by the auto-rickshaw. The driver of the vehicle is absconding after the incident and we are making efforts to catch him."
The injured persons have been admitted to Aurangabad Sadar Hospital, while the dead body has been sent for post mortem.
