Badruddin Ajmal files defamation case against Assam Cong chief

All India United Democratic Front president Badruddin Ajmal has filed a Rs 125 crore defamation case against Assam Pradesh Congress Committee president Anjan Dutta.

"Today Ajmal sahab has registered a Rs 125 crore defamation case against Anjan Dutta at the court of Civil Judge No. 1 of Kamrup Metropolitan district," AIUDF secretary Haidar Hussain Bora said in a statement.

The complaint mentioned Dutta had alleged that Ajmal accepted Rs 150 crore from BJP for a secret understanding between AIUDF and the saffron party, Bora added.

"Ajmal sahab's public image was affected due to the allegation and hence he has approached the court," he said.
 

When contacted, Dutta told PTI "I will contest it in the court.
