Base metals extend losses on global cues

Weak conditions continued to prevail at the non-ferrous metals market today with prices of select base metals falling by another Rs 2 per kg due to a subdued global trend.

Traders said sentiment remained weak after factory-gate deflation deepened in China and as the dollar extended gains.

Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months slid 0.7 per cent to USD 5,830.50 a metric tonne on London Metal Exchange.

In the national capital, copper mixed scrap and nickel (4x4) fell by Rs 2 each Rs 401 and Rs 1,053-1,058 per kg, respectively.

Lead ingot and lead imported followed suit and enquired lower by a similar margin to Rs 104 and Rs 105 per kg, respectively.
 

Zing ingot too eased by Rs 2 at Rs 116-122 per kg.

Following are today's metal rates (in Rs per kg)

Zinc ingot Rs 116-122, Nickel plate (4x4) Rs 1,053-1,058, Gun metal scrap Rs 227, Bell metal scrap Rs 229, Copper mixed scrap Rs 401, Chadri deshi Rs 285.

Lead ingot- Rs 104, Lead imported- Rs 105, Aluminium ingots- Rs 162, Aluminium sheet cutting- Rs 163, Aluminium wire scrap- Rs 165 and Aluminium utensils scrap- Rs 162.
