BEL's advanced night vision products factory coming up in AP

BharatElectronics Ltd today said it is setting up an Advanced Night Vision Products factory at Krishna district in AndhraPradesh.

The factory, coming up at Nimmaluru village nearMachilipatnam, will be the largest suchfacility in the country once commissioned, covering an area of over 50 acres.

Union Minister for Urban Development and Informationand Broadcasting Venkaiah Naidu will lay the foundation stonefor this facility on September 19 in the presence of AndhraPradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and others, BEL saidin a release.

The new facility will be built instages with an estimated investment of about Rs 300 croreover a four-year period.

"The new facility has been planned now to establish astate-of-the-art factory to cater to the futuristicrequirements for Night Vision Products," BEL CMD S K Sharmasaid.
 

The factory will enable BEL expand its Electro-Optics business and carry out manufacturing and integration for ongoing and upcoming projects, the company said.

"BEL is coming up with a modern Defence SystemsIntegration Complex at Palasamudram in Ananthapur district ofAndhra Pradesh to give further thrust to indigenousdevelopment and production of future defence systems," Sharma said.
