BJD MP injured at party programme

BJD leader and MP, Rita Tarei received injuries on her right leg after she fell down during a party programme in Sukinda area of Jajpur district.
The incident happened when Tarei, who represents Jajpur in Lok Sabha, was proceeding after alighting from the vehicle to participate in Jansampark Padayatra at Kaliapani yesterday, said BJD MLA from Sukinda, Pritiranjan Ghadei.
Tarei was proceeding towards the venue. Women BJD workers and supporters mobbed her. As a result, she lost her balance, slipped and fell down, Ghadei said
The MP was admitted to a private hospital at Kaliapani where a fracture on her right leg was detected and she underwent an operation today, said Ghadei.
