BJP councilors Pravesh Wahi and Rajesh Bhatia were today unanimously elected as chairman and deputy chairman of the decision making Standing Committee of North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) ruled by the party.
Both were earlier members of the standing committee besides serving on different committees of the civic body.
Wahi said that he will focus on Swachh Bharat Mission to make North Delhi cleaner with the cooperation of resident welfare associations (RWAs).

He said that a special scheme will soon be launched in this regard.
"The municipal corporation officials will ensure cleanliness of an area under their jurisdiction daily and by this way, we would be able to clean more than 400 colonies intensively in a day," Wahi said.
Bhatia said that he will ensure improvement in public services being rendered by the NDMC besides emphasising on rain water harvesting and rejuvenation of water bodies to meet shortage of water.
Commissioner PK Gupta and many leaders of the civic body were present on the occasion.
